Tuition is non refundable, non transferable between dancers, and not credited due to missed or dropped classes. Dancers ARE permitted to transfer from one class to another without fees.
Class Descriptions & Attire Requirements
Broadway Lights Theatre Camp Ages 12-19
A week-long day camp that features classes focusing on the aspects of Musical Theatre. Classes include: Voice, Makeup/Hair/Costuming, Stage Direction, Lighting & Set Design, Auditioning, Monologue, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Improv, Partnering, Choreography, Yoga & more. Guest Teachers include: Ricky Vitanovec, Masters in Theatre, EMS Theatre Department Director, EHS Drama Club Director, Amanda Showell, Owner of Dancing on the Shore, Professional Ballroom Instructor and more TBA after confirmation. Camp t-shirt is included. Comfortable, athletic attire required. Barefeet or tennis shoes necessary for most classes. Students must bring a bag lunch, water & a snack Monday thru Thursday. A pizza party is included for Friday afternoon. Please contact us for more information.
Company Summer Dance Camp Ages 10-18

Our Dance Company members are required to participate in this summer camp to keep their muscles trained in the summer. Each day will begin with a technical warm-up in ballet, modern or yoga. The remaining camp time will be used on team building classes, self-esteem/motivational classes, nutrition/health class, and to begin work on the Company group choreography for the 2011 performance season, including preparation for the Summerfest Parade, Md Council Dance Festival and our holiday parades. Audition Required.
Imagination Week I - Alice in Wonderland Ages 3-6**
This class will venture into the world of ballet by examining the art of story telling through dance. We will watch excerpts from a ballet story, learn basic ballet steps and vocabulary, explore theatre, character & modern dance and participate in a craft project. Ballet attire is suggested. Hair must be pulled back out of face.
Imagination Week II - Alice in Wonderland Ages 7-10**
This class will venture into the world of ballet by examining the art of story telling through dance. We will watch excerpts from a ballet story, learn basic ballet steps and vocabulary, explore theatre, character & modern dance, participate in a craft project and finish the class with a brief performance of our own ballet dance. Ballet attire is suggested. Hair must be pulled back out of face.
Pirouette Club - Under the Big Top Ages 3-7
The theme for our summer session of the Pirouette Club is "Under the Big Top." We will work on small and large motor skills while learning basic ballet and creative movement as well as some fun circus themed games and talents. Little dancers will be able to make a craft project and hear stories & facts about the circus. Dancers should wear comfortable athletic attire, have hair pulled back out of face and be barefoot.
Summer OPEN Ballet Ages 10-18
Classical ballet is a beautiful and theatrical form of dance and is the basis of almost every type of dance. This class assists with balance, body placement, turnout, flexibility and alignment in dance. French terminology is taught on all levels. Any color Leotard, Pink Tights, Pink Split Sole Leather or Canvas Ballet Slippers, Hair must be pulled into a bun, bangs pinned out of face.
Summer Ballet/Tap Combo Ages 5-9
This class introduces the young dancer to tap as well as increases their coordination and technique in ballet. A bit more serious then creative movement - but still a lot of fun. Athletic or Dance Attire, Pink Leather Ballet Slippers, Black Buckle Tap Shoes, tights or thin socks. Hair must be up in ponytails, braids or a bun.
Summer Hippity Hop Ages 5-9
Dancers will enjoy learning the basic movement & vocabulary behind Hip Hop dance on an age appropriate scale. A fun, high energy class! Dance attire and clean tennis shoes or jazz sneakers required. Hair should be up in ponytails, braids or buns.
Summer Pointe Ages 12-18
Pointe is a class focusing directly on exercises to prepare students for going on pointe. Dancers will be put through a vigorous barre routine to strengthen the muscles necessary to dance in pointe shoes. Dancers must also be registered in Summer Ballet. Teacher & Doctor Approval Needed. Any color Leotard, Pink Tights, Pink Leather or Canvas Split-Sole Ballet Slippers (Pointe Shoes will be needed at different times depending on ability). Hair must be in a bun, no bangs.
