Faculty and Staff
We are very excited to have a highly qualified faculty and staff dedicated to educating students in the artform of dance. All of our teachers are required to follow a basic syllabus/class plan each year and to go through First Aid and CPR training. It is very important that our teachers also be appropriately trained in working with and educating children of all ages. This ability is gained through workshops, college classes and experience.

Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200)
English and Secondary Education Teacher
Samantha (Sam) started practicing Yoga at the age of 16, but it was not until she became a student at Salisbury University that her Yoga journey truly began. Along with earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Secondary Education, Sam spent time learning Yoga and evolving it into her lifestyle of health and fitness. Though a runner at heart, Sam found Yoga to be a beneficial way to calm the mind, handle stress, and help create a balanced life. Still active in Yoga after college, Sam studied under Phyllis Johnston and earned her RYT-200. Additionally, Sam became registered with the national credentialing organization, the Yoga Alliance. Yoga with Sam combines centering, focus of the breath, and meditation with balance and strengthening of the body. As for her Yoga philosophy, she believes Yoga is the ability to become content with the present moment. Practicing the poses or ‘asana’ allows the mind to settle on the concept that life is about the journey and not the destination. When not teaching middle school and teaching or practicing Yoga, Sam enjoys spending time with friends, family and her Cavalier King Charles puppy, Wexford. Her passions also include teaching, traveling, hiking, running, health and fitness, as well as earning her Master of Education (MEd) in Instructional Technology from the University of Maryland.
